Slow Replacement Order
I purchased the PowerPro headstock for my Mark V 500 on May 8, 2016 and it shipped on May 12, 2016. I received it on May 14 which was very fast. After I installed all the new components I tested it with no issues. I then ran two table saw cuts without any issue and changed over to the drill press and during the drilling I got the error System State0. I call Shopsmith on May 31, 2016 to talk about this error. But before that I looked on the internet for a causes, but those solutions did not work. When I spoke with Shopsmith I was told that the issue may be with the power supply. So I was sent a new one. This replacement took a little longer that the original order, which was received on June 11, 2016. After I replaced the power supply, I still got the same error. I called back on Monday June 13 to let them know that this did not resolved my problem. I then called back today, June 16, 2016 to get an update and was told that a new motor would be shipped out and it may take up to two weeks to get this new part. To me that seems a very long time to have to wait for a part, and seeing after paying over $900 for this it should not take any longer than the original order took. Please do not think I am displeased with the Shopsmith products, I love them, it is just how long it takes to get a replacement part.

Re: Slow Replacement Order
First, welcome to this forum.
Also welcome to the new world of just in time manufacturing. There are no stockpiles in warehouses from which to glean replacement parts.
Truth be told, you have experienced an unusually short delivery time(less than a week!). Also the supply chain has a quite lengthy far end.
It is unfortunate and I am sorry you are experiencing this difficulty, but rest assured all possible effort will be undertaken to resolve this totally.
Indeed if this is a manufacturing 'defect' it would be resolved regardless of the date of purchase. Few manufacturers today will do that.
Also realize that SS is dependent upon their vendor in this instance.
