As I've blathered about in other posts the Greenie I inherited came with about 100 doodads all in a foot locker. So I've been putting this thing back together with lots of head scratching.

Is this gizmo part of something? If so, what?

That should be mounted on the end of the miter gauge bar. It provides an index and a stop for the protractor head.

Ah.... one problem. The dowel (pin) that sticks out the end? There's no 'receiver' on the miter gauge I've got. I see how it screws onto the underside of the bar, but where's the 'hole' the thing fit into?

My miter gauge looks like this:

Your 'greenie' should NOT have a Mark 2 miter gauge.

There is no hole in the greenie miter gauge neither.

The pin projects and a stop screw bumps against it. There are three stop screws. The set screws provide adjustability. The pin is retracted for setting all other angles.

How about a pix of the underside of the one you have.

Damn. I sure wish I didn't have to hook up a cable and perform like 12 steps every time I wanna upload a piccie. (Old guy rant).

OK... hopefully -this- explains my confusion. I'm sure it's something obvious.

Is the pin/dowel somehow removable?

I feel your pic pain, remove the thing from the camera, hook up to the computer, then store it,ect then go here and find where stored, I put it on the Desk Top, then post it here. BLA BLA BLA.

The thing in your right hand does as JPG said on a greenie Miter gauge, I dont know what Miter gauge you have there, But if JPG ses it a a Mark? it is.
He sleeps and eats and I think at times may try and make Jkeov to them

Here is a thing I have found, Grandpa buys an ER, and some accessories, passes it down to his son, he likes it, and dedicates as something, his son buys a 60-70ish SS and some more accessories, PTOs dad dies an now grandson does not do wood working and has no idea about what, plus a few other power tools, and accessories in the parts bucket. You buy them all and have to figure out what is what and what for. Just went through that with an ER and a ToolCraft Shaper.

So... is that pin supposed to retract (move back and forth?) My is stuck in that position. Is there a screw that locks it in place? How do I loosen it?
