Speed control question

Post by danfordman »

This probably sounds like a dumb question, but how do you adjust the speed on th 10 ER? There are three pulleys on the motor and head stock that is my guess but what one of those three pulleys are high speed? I want to use my drill press for cutting metal.

Speed control question

The motor pulley steps should be the reverse of the headstock pulley. The biggest motor pulley to the smallest headstock pulley give you the highest speed. Visit Yahoo Groups Shopsmith10ERusers for more answers and 10ER speeds that include ways for more than 3 different speeds.
