Today's the day

Post by masonsailor2 »

Well the day has finally arrived and I marry off my only daughter today. The hysteria in my house is off the scale. IMHO and my future son in law's elopement would have been a vast improvement but we were severely out voted. Wife and daughter counted for ten votes each I think. A wedding at the beach in July in a tuxedo. Go figure. Heat stroke is probably a live possibility for a couple family members !

Congratulations! I hope he is a keeper.

An aside: When my daughter was getting married and there were about 200+ folks staring at her coming down the aisle, she told me that she was so scared that she was about to loose it. I told her to imagine all of them naked or her mother-in-law naked. She started laughing and told me she would never see her MIL the same way again.

Please be careful in the heat. Now back to the thread.

Wow! I vote with the menfolk!

If men planned weddings, I've gotta believe they would be a lot less expensive, and a heck of a lot more fun. I had to pay for my own fairly elaborate women-planned affair almost four decades ago, and half-expect to be bankrupted by those of my two daughters.

But what the heck. If Momma is happy, then most likely everyone is happy. :)
