CFM of DC3300

I have moved to the mountains of NC and working on a shop. The DC3300 says it has a 330CFM rating but I can not find the external static pressure the fan will handle. In other words 330CFM @ ?ESP. If the fan delivers 330CFM at 1"ESP then I would be very restricted on building a semi-permanent system but if will deliver 330CFM at 5" my options are greatly increased. I will call SS tomorrow and see what they say. Also is the extended hood worthwhile?

I don't know the answer to your first question about static pressure. I do think the 330 CFM is optimistic.

As to your second question, if you are using it in your house, get the 42 inch hood. Orherwise you are just moving the dust around your shop.

So the 42" hood does an effective job in filtering the shop air. That is good to hear, as i get older dust seems to bother me more.

The DC has three ports.

7" = single port.

4.6" = all three ports.

330 CFM is with all three ports.IIUC

Single port is less CFM.IIUC

Thanks to everyone. SS emailed and called today and they said 5 to 7" which is the same as in the video JPG sent. Thanks again and I am glad to get the input of the 42" hood.
