The curly maple is gorgeous, of course. But I especially like the little barrel-shaped handle standoffs ... details really do matter. Did you turn those from cherry?
Superb!!!! You got a problem with 4 coats of Gloss Oil Poly?

Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them.

Good eye Dennis! Yes I turned those from a scrap cutoff of Cherry from the cherry top. It was about 1.5 inches by 1 inch and I originally was making a set of ball "feet" for the box, but when I place the box on the feet, I didn't like it so I used three of the four to mount the leaf.
Thanks for noticing!
ER, I was told a few months ago that anyone can get a gloss finish from a can and it doesn't mean anything anymore LOL, so I decided to just non gloss this box. I made this predominately with the two 10ER's for Dawn, the generous lady who gave me Texas Booty. She doesn't know it yet and is stopping by in a few weeks to see her dad's machine and get pictures. It is a surprise (I hope she isn't reading the forum LOL). You would prefer a gloss? Just curious......

OK, gotcha (whew ) I really like the look of the finish. This is probably my best effort so far with very few blemishes. I seem to be getting better at the precision needed to do this stuff

I dont think there is a PERFECT miter, if there is, it wont be for long. A bit of wood putty, or saw dust and glue, ect makes the perfect miter.
Give us report on how the gift giver liked the payment.
