I purchased two Power Stations that were lightly used at a tag sale.

SN: 072092 & SN: 092192

One of my shop techs made the stiffeners that B-D designed for his machine. I got the same results: quieter and almost no vibration.

I also installed caster assemblies and new rubber feet.

The belts looked like new, so I did not replace.

It did take a while to measure and make a template, but it was well worth the effort. I did replace the socket head screws with 1" units to replace the 1/2" units. Used a 36" piece of 2"x2" angle purchased at Lowes.

My co-worker made all four pieces on a mill in our shop. It took less than an hour...

Cool! The number of people who believed me about the stiffener brackets has now increased to four!

As far as I know, you're the only other person who has actually tried them. I suspected that the link belts were unnecessary after I installed the stiffeners. But they were already installed, so I left them. Those puppies were expensive at the time, and I think that the price has about doubled since then. So the next time I need a link belt, I may just repurpose those.

I had the best intentions of posting dimensioned bracket drawings here, but time and Sketchup ineptness eventually killed progress on that. Any chance you could post yours?

I am working on that. I will have one of my colleagues, a draftsman, make a drawing in CAD and PDF format(s).

I also am going to post pictures.

I would like the drawings if you are going to share rbucket. I have a Power Station that my bandsaw runs on and have never really liked the noise it makes. Did all the upgrades, ie, bearings, etc and the bandsaw runs quite. Used to squeal like a stuck pig. Making the Power Station quieter would be very nice.

I started to do something very similar when this was discussed on the forum earlier. It just never got done. I clamped some steel bar stock to the underside to see if it had any effect. The kludge job did seem to reduce the noise and vibration significantly.

This is a sketch of what I had had in mind. DO NOT USE THESE DIMENSIONS. They are only concept estimates.

It should go without saying that a mirror image of this would also be required.

Should have a dimension drawing tomorrow evening...

I have the dimension drawing available and would like to make it available as a PDF file so that it can be printed and used as a template.

How can I attach a PDF file?

If not attachable, can it be made available on the forum as a download?
