Traveling Academy coming East

Post by ricknwood »

Good Morning Shopsmith owners,
I have had so many inquiries and comments pertaining to the Traveling Academies schedule, that I would like to let you know about an upcoming run that is going to take me East. I will be coming to the major metro areas in the following states:
Utah, Arizona, Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virgina and DC. On the way back West I will probably be stopping in New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado. I am going to try to get a few more stops while I am back East. If that occurs, I will post notifying those locations
PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT customer service to ask questions, our current staff is limited and they will know nothing until it is posted on the Traveling Academy web site. I am usually scheduled 3 months in advance, so just keep an eye out. I will also be posting specific information on craigslist in the classes section. I hope to see all of you there.

This is great news, Rick!

I was lucky and caught probably the last TA in my area (Charlotte, NC) before they were discontinued on this side of the world. I really enjoyed the classes. I was also fortunate enough to get extra attention from the instructor since I was the only student on the Day 2 class and there were only 2 of us for the Day 3 class.:D

I look forward to the announcement of the schedule and hope I will be able to attend.

Thanks for making the effort to come back out this way!

That's great Rick!

I'll be looking forward to the ones in my area. (I've attended 1 in FL. and 2 in SC)

Maybe, since you're the first to know about dates, you could start a new thread here (i.e. 'East coast TA dates') and post to it each time you get new info. That would save a lot of search time for regular forum members.

Also, I really enjoyed your first "Shopsmith Journals". Keep up the good work!

I'm in California, but I'm glad to see that the company see's the need for the Traveling Academy to travel through the East and Mid-West again.

Is this a sign that things are looking up for Shopsmith? I sure hope so. There has been plenty of posts talking about how the company is hurting business wise. It's good to see something positive for a change. If they are putting their money into more classes, this is a good sign things are looking up.

See you in Fresno Rick.

That is good news. I couldn't schedule the Dayton classes so the DC or Virginia location will be much more feasible. I use to work in Maryland next to DC and my wife will be able to visit with many of her friends while I attend the classes.

I am looking forward to the dates being posted.

Guess Rick is out West now. I am looking forward to the lath academy Sunday in Bakersfield. If you attend I will be the guy sleeping after the the 90 mile 6am drive from LA. From here, anyplace he goes is East.
