I ordered the Shopsmith Table Storage System because I wanted an easy way to store the tables, etc. when not in use, I did so on faith, because there isn't a lot of pictures and information on how to use the system. After it arrived I thought that is a lot of money for what you get, but I figured as it is American made, I am willing to pay a little more. Even so it is a bit over priced. My original plan was to use the one last un-used space, the inside of the garage door. Here are the modifications and set up, it works great. To attach the system to the door, I used heavy duty perforated strap, screwed to the door frame.
The flippers to retain the tube automatically swing down into position if you forget to turn them over the tubes, as soon as the door starts up, their own weight swings them into place

I had to add spacers so that the Tube Retainers would clear the door as it opens.

JJ, Very nice and clever. To walk under that, it has to be one high door or one short JJ :)

It is a high door, if it had been a standard door I would have gone up one panel.

Right. But as it is, it goes up over where my Shopsmith sits, so it really doesn't matter and hangs directly where it sits and if it goes up, it usually comes right back down as the shop is heated and air conditioned. So it just making that dead "wall space"
useful.

Yeah as I get older I can't take the heat and I like to work in my shop all year round.
