I wonder if someone could coach me into rewiring my vacuum? I took it apart to paint it and believed I would remember where they would go back. In other words I thought I could depend on my memory (WRONG IDEA). There are the wires from the power cord, and the on off switch, and the ones going to the snap on plug. Wire with circle connector goes to the ground.

TIP: Not that this will help you now, but next time take pictures with your phone camera (or other digital camera) before you disassemble things. This has worked for me with many complicated mechanical devices.

Obviously the switch is not included.(maybe that is why it disappeared?)

Color of the connector doesn't matter. I know your switch has knife blades where you can put the female connector.

Put your two female connectors on one side of the switch. If the switch ever fails in the future, you can put both of them on the other side. This worked for me.

The black wire in the power cord connects to one side of the switch. The other side of the switch connects to the top contact in the three pin connector. Through he three pin connector, the black wire connects to one side of the motor.

From the other side of the motor comes a white lead that connects to the bottom contact on the three pin connector. Through the three pin connector, the white wire connects to either the switch or directly to the white wire from the power cord. This depends on whether there is a single pole or double pole switch.

This white wire connection is somewhat unusual in that the neutral wire is being switched. Normally it would be the hot wire that gets switched. It works exactly the same way but switching the neutral is not conventional

The green wire in the power cord passes through the center pin in the three pin connector and connects to the chassis (or the motor housing) of the dust collector.

The diagram that is shown earlier in this thread is missing the switch and that is all that is needed to correct it.
