Election day project, who says I'm not on the flower wagon?

Post by reible »

Maybe that should be band wagon?

We have a pair of old wagons, early 1980's who have spent a lot of time out doors, like their whole life. On there second life now, well one is the other will be a spring project.

Lots of rust and pitted beyond sanding smooth and not worth the effort anyway. The second set of wheels on this one fell apart this spring so I ordered ball bearing wheels in metal. The fasteners were to rusted to remove so that was a destructive process, now all stainless steel. A couple of spot welds on the axle are now screws. Used restore undercoat then added the colors, red white and blue. Found some axle nuts in white so the "hub caps" got that treatment.

We wanted it done for election day since the colors worked so well for that....

BTW the ball bearing wheels are really free wheeling so it hard to find a spot to park the wagon where it will stay. I guess that's good but our front yard pretty much slopes. It will be in the back yard anyway after today.
