Looking for a Planer # 505990

Anyone know where I might find a Planer for my 510? Would like to get hold of one that doesn't cause me to donate my left leg.

Okay... I don't know what work you're talking about. I've been checking pretty much all Craigslists and Fleabay. I should have bought one 22 years ago when I bought my 510 new, but opted for a jointer, a bandsaw, drum sander, table extensions, and lots of other extras instead. Oh well...

Just be patient, or expand your search zone. I got lucky and found a 12" planer locally on Craigslist for $100. I found a DC3300 in the San Diego area for $75, and was able to get a nephew who lives near there buy it for me and ship. Tap into any good friends or relatives in larger market areas and it shouldn't take long to find whatever you're looking for. Also, if you add your location to your profile, maybe other members can alert you if they see something. And check the Heads Up Bargain thread in the Community section where other members provide links to good finds.

P.S. I think what ER Lover meant by doing the work for you was that he provided a link to a recent thread where at least 2 members talk about maybe not having a need for their Mark V mounted planer. You might PM them.

You don't mention what part of the country you live in. Location determines what you can expect to pay. Around here, there are no cheap Shopsmiths, accessories, or parts. Other parts of the country have a glut of them so they sell cheap.

So... was out of the loop for a few days... hunting season and all so I have been somewhat distracted. Maybe should have started this thread (skirmish) later down the road. Too many Elk and Deer.... so little clear shots and time. 3 rules of hunting: (1) Sight (2) Horns (3) Shoot

Sorry and apology ERLover, but I'm still learning how to fly this duck. This is not the easiest website to navigate. I FINALLY figured out how to post my info on the profile. Basically although I'm not totally illiterate on computers, there's still times I need the aid of a seeing eye dog.

Ya me too, if you have a problem navigating just ask, many here to help, JPG does use a bit different lingo, knows almost all, a great asset here, but you have to learn how to interpret him. He spent too many years in the SE Hills. JPG He is a great man.
