Mount Kreg K5 jig
Been using R3 Kregs pocket hole jig for awhile now, tired of hand clamping it on every hole, and no dust collection, so...finally decided to upgrade to the K5. Probably next week before it gets here, so thought I would make a mounting board for it while I wait, problem is can't seem to find any where what the dimensions are for this thing. Any one got one, how long is this thing with the wings attached, thinking I'll need a few inch's on either side and want to put a handle in front to carry it with, and still have some depth behind to make it stable, probably put some stick on rubber tabs on the bottom to keep it from sliding around. Figure if I use some thing like MDF shouldn't need to clamp it, it's own weight should do fine keeping it stable...any thoughts, recommendation... thanks
Re: Mount Kreg K5 jig
I have a K3 which is fairly similar to the K5 other than the wings. I mounted mine to a piece of 1x6x 18 or 24" or so. I would not recommend the rubber feet as you'll probably want to clamp the entire board to something larger as I don't think it's weight will keep it stable enough, unless you only work with smaller and light pieces. I did drill a couple holes in the board so that I can optionally clamp it using t-track, also a hole to hang on a pegboard hook.
