Hi my name is Wes I am new to the forum and woodworking. My back ground is fabrication in steel. I purchased a Greenie with some accessories, the ad stated "most of the Shopsmith accessories" vague but from the picture I was comfortable with the $350 asking price. The picture showed a Mark v 500 with jointer, jigsaw and two boxes of stuff. I have it disassembled and am in the process of reassembly, reconditioning each component as I go, starting from the base up. Im sure I will have many questions as I go along.
The accessories boxes were a pleasant surprise most all of them were boxed and unused, it seams the machine was used mainly for it's table saw capacity. Router arbor with bits, mortising with chisels and bits, lathe with chisels, molder head with knives, shaper fence with..... all unused in the boxes

Re: New Beginning
Nice haul!!! Considering the 'shipping' container, where in the world are you(add answer to your profile).
One caveat - The Greenie main table is different from later models. The box the front table extension being a late(r) version may indicate the contents are for the later version. If so, it will not work correctly on either the Greenie main table or the narrow accessory table.
Before actually turning the motor on, perform some PM. Lubricate the movable sheaves(2)(see sticky posts at the top of the Maintenance and Repair thread).
I did not notice anything 'missing', but did notice a LOT of extra stuff.
Welcome to the madness. Did the original Manual come with it?
IF you get stuck, we be here. You are off to a good start(we like pictures!!!!)

Re: New Beginning
I will definitely service the headstock before operation, thanks. on that note there is no data plate on it. Is there any other way of identifying date of manufacture? I got it freight from a custom hardwood flooring company in Connecticut here in Mobile, Al.

Re: New Beginning
You are correct JGP, chalk that up to fat fingers and the lack of the proper spectacles.
serial number 270508. Looks like a 1954 manufacture date.
