Haven't seen the sun for 8 days. Forecast says it won't make an appearance until next Sunday, either. But, we're headed for sunny and warmer Tucson tomorrow. Welcome respite.
Gonna deliver a chair, pick up some mesquite and visit Shipwright. Gotta see his new shop and PowerPro.
Would love to stay down there till April but that ain't in the cards.

And while there hasn't been snow, there's been a LOT of cloud cover and a bit of rain in Phoenix since New Year's. Driving me batty!

Spitting snow now. 38 degrees. Crappy weather.
How was the demo?

Sorry to hear you hate winter. I really like it because it is the only time I can do woodworking. In the summer it is too hot and humid to do any work with my Shopsmith. I would miss not having winter to use my Shopsmith.

Summer isn't bad here because it's a dry heat ya know.
I'm surprised it gets too hot where you are. But, you do have a long winter to work in, right?

Gene- I'm with you, man!
Years ago I lived winter - even had bumper stickers that said "THINK SNOW".

It was a wonderful time, snowmobiling with our family, cooking burgers on open fires, in the snow on New year's eve at -10 degrees. Of course the fire would sink in the snow and we hat to dig out the burgers, but this was part of the fun.

After retiring and moving South, I quickly learned to, like you, hate winter. We are now behind in ppt, but selfishly I don't mind. We have recently had a couple inches of rain, but cannot forget the recent year we had 350 days of sunshine. (the other 10 were cloudy with showers)

Hey Chuck. Those pix look like a lot of fun....30 years ago. At 45, I could handle that cold.
BTW, is that Shopsmith repair shop in down town Lancaster, still in business? Used to buy Greenlee tools there. Sent my MKV motor to them for a refurb several years ago.

For me, 80 degrees or higher is too hot to do anything but sit in the shade, so summer is too hot to work.
Winter here gives me about 5 months of cold from November through March for woodworking. After that, it gets too hot and the Shopsmith gets parked until it cools off again.
I can handle cold, but not heat. I don't mind going outside when it is -20 and doing things, but once it gets up to 80, I can't deal with it.
If I had to live in the south, I might as well die because I could never be outside again.

I dont hate it, just not liking it as much as I used to. I just wish we had a nicer Spring. Usually the winds are off Lake Michigan till mid June, so if you live within 15 miles to the west of it, it keeps the normal temps down by 15-5*F depending where you are in that zone.
My second house was a mile away, in late May to early June, it would/could be only 45-50* on a sunny day in the afternoon, go 3-5 miles further west and it was 70*
Trouble is in the really hot summer days, the Lake does not help ya be cooler unless you live on the shore line since the wind is W or SW.

Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them. :)
