It tried not to allow me to make another post so soon after my last.

2nd Post in reply, uses the renamed Subject line

Admin please delete thread in a few days after other members have had a chance to read it.

Now go back and attempt to change the title in the first post. Never mind, you apparently already did

Not sure, but I think changing any title is not possible once the post is 'posted'.

If the title says 'altered', changes can be made to title by editing by original poster.

Not my recollection! Not first time recollection is funky.

Details details details - not easy to show history when things are changed.

Bottom line is titles can be changed, but only by editing by the original poster, but original thread title will appear on later posts.

Look back through this thread.

It was created with "Test thread Name Edit"

The 2nd post reflected a reply to it by that name.

I then edited the Subject adding - Revised.

I replied only to that. Post 3

It, and all subsequent posts have used the edited Subject that included Revised.

I am next going back and changing the name to Revised - Twice and then I will reply to the thread again. If it says twice in that reply, and none of the others, it is pulling the current Thread Subject from Post 1

It picks up your revised Subject only when I reply with quote button.

If it is your post, you change change it.

I intend (though I often fail) to change titles whenever I hijack a post.

I find it very useful if I need to go back and read something much later.
