What ever happened to Nick Engler?

Post by dynabase »

I hope this is not a sore subject because I don't want to be "that guy" but what ever happened to Nick Engler? He was the face of Shopsmith then he was gone. Is he still around somewhere?

He is still around but has more or less devoted himself to his Aviation interests.

Yes I thought the same thing. He is retired and did help in building a replica of the Wright brothers airplane. I just purchase about 7 of his books online. He was/is a great woodworker that represented Shop Smith and a down to earth instructor.

Wherever he is and whatever he's doing, I wish him well. And, his sidekick, too.
Can't remember his name but, it'd be nice to know how and what he's doing, also.

In case anyone is interested, I was able to purchase Nick's entire Woodworking Companion series on DVD form Popular Woodworking.

That's good to hear. I always enjoyed his sessions. I was out of the loop when he left and I was worried bad things happened. He seems like a great guy and I wish him the best.
