Control sheave oil hole

I got my replacement control sheave from Shopsmith today, but the oil hole doesn't look right to me. On my old one the oil hole lines up with the key slot. On the new one it does not. It seems like this would make it very hard to get the oil distributed evenly. Did they drill this one wrong, or does it not matter where the hole is?

No one responded to this over the weekend, so I gave Shopsmith a call this morning. They said the oil hole placement doesn't matter. It seems to me that it would work better right above the key, but as long as it works I don't care!

Never noticed where the oil hole was on my old machine, but as long as the machine is turned to high speed so the hole is not backed up by the shaft, the entire shaft will get lubricated - as well as the small bearing at the end of the sheave tube.

Also one needs to use more than two drops per 10 hours of lubing.
