Motor mount clamp replacement

Post by brian »

My 10er motor has the half clamps on each end that attaches it to a bracket that then bolts to the mounting V plate that is standard for ERs. I am missing the clamp part for one side. Here is a pick of the other side. I've searched everywhere but can't find just that part. AO Smith motor mounts still have this assembly but I don't want to buy a whole new mount. Anyone know where to get these? I'm considering fabricating one. It's wired up right now.

If you have an electric motor shop near you try them as they may have what you need from a burned out motor

Yeah, links to individual products time out there.
Here is the page. It's on the second row... Mounting clips

I don't see a purchase link but have yet to find them separate like this anywhere else.

I found a few options here. There are a few here that look identical except for the part number.

Any thoughts?

Yeah, I've looked local places this evening. I'll try to call tomorrow if they're open. I found some online in a few places. Some in the 10 to 14 dollar range but then added like 20 dollars for shipping. I could just buy a new mount for that! Anyways, wire holds fine it's just cosmetic and bothers me. Something will turn up.

After an entire evening searching (in the cool AC'd room btw) I switched my keyword from clip/clamp to latch and turned up much more.

If I can't snag it locally I think this is my best option. Little over ten dollars after shipping..

So for the record it's a Century (they bought the motor division of AO smith) motor mounting latch.

I feel I just beat the Internet.

I hate to dig this thread back up but I wanted to give the conclusion...

I remembered finding that clip on the shop floor years ago but at the time I had no idea what it went to. Since that was so long ago I couldn't remember what I did with it. Hence me trying to find one to order.

Anyways, I still had not ordered new clips (had it wired up) and was piddling around in the shop today and opened and old little junk drawer for no reason and boom!

Staring back up at me:
