I have an Magna era bandsaw with the iron table. Though I can clamp a piece of wood on for a fence, I was wondering if there was ever a real fence for this model. Any suggestions? Thanks and best regards, Alec

He probably doesn't have any more time on his hands than I do but he sure has more lumber. Just a few of those timbers and planks would keep me stocked for a long while.

I use the Miter Gauge with the Hardware Miter Gauge Extension. I use the set screw in the miter bar to lock it in place. You can adapt a 1X6 and a rounded block for resawing. To me, this make an excellant fence and jig.

I modified a fence from my old Delta 10 Table saw. I have a big piece of white oak I needed to re-saw, and the old delta fence with modifications works great.

I use the method Bill Mayo described which was the recommended method SS used for many years. When I got my bandsaw it only came with a cast iron table and what Bill describes was the method SS recommended for fence. I have used mitre guage in the slot as a fence for about 25 years and it has always worked for me.

If you ever watch Dave Marks on DIY channel he has a huge band saw table built from wood and all he does is clamps a board to it when he resaws. If you ever seen any of his work you know that method works also.

It is intended to be used with an aluminum table. An earlier post showed it mounted on a cast iron table. Contact that poster to determine what was done to mount it on a cast iron table. http://shopsmith.net/forums/showthread. ... band+fence See post # 7
