Mark VII Saw guard--missing part?

Hello,
The saw guard that came with my Mark VII looks very different from the others I have.
It doesn't have a full front guard--just like weird side and lower guards.
Is this normal or is it missing something?
It honestly looks like this is how it was manufactured.
I just made an unexpected score (I only wanted two pieces but had to bargain for a whole lot of pieces) and got it all set up and now one of my machines has to go because I am just out of room.
I love the design of the VII but all of my others are Mark Vs so for compatibility issues
Before I give it to a friend I want to see if this is normal.
Any help appreciated.
Thank you.
Gerry

The one shown in your picture is the upgrade to the Mark V system seen here
http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cata ... system.htm There were at least two optional saw guard at the time of the Mark VII; one shown in the operator's manual and one in the Magna accessory catalog. Lower shop is a mess

Thanks for the info!
This was the only guard that came with Mark VII when I got it.
I didn't realize the Mark Vone would fit.
I got metal guards with some of my Mark Vs and larger
Plastic ones (for the 12"--this just fits the 10" blade) with others
I don't see a problem using it on the Mark VIi--is there
A problem I should know about?

The size of the table may cause problems.

Not trying to hijack this thread but curiosity got the best of me. I notice in the first photo the carriage raise and lock mechanism is similar to the rack mechanism. I have not seen this version before. Is this an earlier or later model??
By the way that is one fine looking Mark VII!!

Just noticed there is another one listed right now on eBay located in Hayes, KS with the same carriage set up. If I were to guess, I would guess it is probably an early version?? I like the looks of it and am going to see if I can adapt a rack set up I have.

I still want to know more about the two versions of carriage table lift mechanisms??? Which one is the original??
I am also interested in a Mark VII Upper and lower saw blade guard if someone has one they would part with??

The table raising mechanism on my Mark VII is the same as seen in the photo. I don't have the serial # so I have no idea if it is early or late.
