Paper towel roll redo.

Post by CrashmanS »

I made a nice oak paper towel Dispenser a long time ago. As it worked out, the rolls are getting bigger. They won't fit until they are half empty. I need to make two new "arms" for the roll holder. Does anyone have any idea what diameter the mega rolls are? Short of me going and looking for the biggest roll at the store!

I don't have any mega rolls but I'm guessing it wouldn't be larger than 6 inch diameter. Probably in the 5 - 1/4" to 6" range.

I don't know what a mega roll is but the Brawny Pick-A-Size rolls are 5 3/4".

I suppose I could take a tape measure to Walmart and measure them all! That should get me looked at. I want to fit this to the biggest available now.

The rolls we buy are about 5-3/4" across so a radius of 3" would work.

We have a store bought holder that the rolls do not fit until we use them for a while, it measures about 2-1/2" only.

I have no idea if there are larger rolls but the idea of going to a store and measuring makes since.

Or you could borrow a ruler (school supplies), or a tape measure (tools),from their stock and then return it before checkout. ;)
