I read an article today regarding scammers being able to freeze Chrome followed with a pop-up to call Microsoft with the scammer's number provided.
When I did a complete reinstall in December I had problems with Firefox so used Chrome for about two weeks until I got the bugs worked out. Here's something I discovered: During the first week with Chrome I had 559 trackers, (SuperAntiSpyware), 1 trojan and 4 nefarious others (Malwarebytes). Since getting Firefox working properly in late December I have had 0 trackers (SuperSntiSpyware) and hits (Malwarebytes). The trackers on Chrome didn't surprise me except for the number because Google makes billions from adware. Malwarebytes hits were a surprise.

Re: Chrome vs. Firefox
I putter around playing with several different browsers on different puters. For Windows 10 (I still hate Windows and I don't much care for Edge) I like Firefox as well as anything. I did try Comodo Ice Dragon for a while (based on Firefox) but found a few things I didn't like about it.
My linux units seem to work OK with about anything.
I have a smallish older Coby Android tablet and its browser became obsolete and non working. I finally installed a browser on it called "Boat Browser Mini" that seems to serve OK.
I spend a lot of time on my smart phone and it has Chrome on it.
I have a very old iMac running OS-X and it uses Safari.
