I bought one of these today. Ever since we bought the new house I have been attempting to develop an as built floor plan for the house. Measuring and remeasuring the spaces has not bee a successful endeavor, I hope this helps! But, if it doesn't it is still a fun tool to have in my tool box (along with my Zircon stud finder).

Re: Bosch Measuring Tool
I don't recall the model one of my sons has but he used it to measure for trim in his house. I would not have guessed it would work as well as it did. I think you will like it.

We use those in the property claims business. I can't imagine going back to the old tape measure way of measuring rooms and othe stuff.

Re: Bosch Measuring Tool
I did not expect it to be as accurate and repeatable as it is. I find it to be very useful and easily accurate to a 1/32" IF USED RIGHT. It is sensitive to light conditions and roughness (smoothness) of the surface being measured. Not good if hand held (OK for rough measurements).
I might need to buy a second one to improve my chances of finding one when needed.

Re: Bosch Measuring Tool
I have a "similar" Crafstman model which has lasted a long time both is otherwise disappointing. It is accurate +- 1/2 inch and has a range of up to 32' anything over 16' though and it dispays the actual measurment - 16' so 20'4" becomes 4'4" It meets my needs for floor plan layout when remodeling and estimating but I know its limitations.
Oddly, for no apparent reason, it also has a feature tell you the temerature in the room. Apparently some product designer thought people frequently need to know room size and temperature.
