power pro in for repair building backup headstock

Should have looked here before I bought my power pro upgrade. Anyway it is down and sent the power supply and display to SS. No word on progress and when I called Brian he said he would check and call me back. Well, I want to get back to work so I got a goldie headstock off the web and am using my old parts left over from the upgrade so I can get back to work. I will now have a spare mechanical headstock now that I can rely on.

Stay in regular contact with Customer Service. Insist on talking to an engineer or technician. Be the persistent squeaky wheel.

I will become more presistant starting next week. For now my motor pan is due to arrive today and my pp lift assistant will be here tomorrow. Hope to be operational tonight with the fall back headstock. Who knows I may opt to keep using the mechanical headstock instead of the power pro. My old one kept me in business for so many years without a glitch. I will let you guys know how it goes tomorrow. Thank you again to this forum, and all my friends.

Got the goldie headstock running today. Did a horiontal boar and ran the planner. Both work as it should have. The sound is so familiar to me not being the power pro. Next I have to cut down some paneling to finish the front porch. It is nice to have the backup. And now it won't matter how long it takes to get my pp back. It is only 3 months old so I should not have to pay anything. If I do have to not sure what I will do. Thanks for reading this guys. And thank you for guiding me to the rebuild. I re-purposed all of the parts from the pp upgrade. Did not cost me much and the goldie is a poly v also.

With all the Power Pro problems I am now glad I put mine into headstock parts I bought and kept my original headstock intact. Let us know the outcome of your PP repair.

I sent my display and controller in about 2 months ago. Called again a few days ago and was told Bryan was out for the past 2 weeks on sick leave and they didn't know when he would be back. I suspect the PP repairs are stacking up. I had my second 500 headstock modified to run in both directions a few years ago and that's what I have been using ever since my PP quit. I installed it myself in 2010 and just haven't done anything about it since it was out of warranty.

Oh my 2 months. I'M glad I invested in the backup now. I was told I should get a call within 10 days with whether or not there would be any charges. As new as it is there had better not be any charges.

After several calls to CS Sue (repair tech) finally called me back Thursday. She tested my PP parts and found that the power supply is bad. She is going to send me a replacement along with my display. I asked what went wrong and was told me they don't do any component testing they just ship it off the the manufacturer. Hmmmmm. I wonder why it took this long for just warranty work and to send a replacement instead of doing a repair. Anyway I will let you know when it arrives. I sure hope soon. My rebuilt goldie headstock has been doing fine I just want my PP bakc. Dusty thanks for the hint on presistant calling oh and being kind on the phone helped alot also.

I wish you could have reminded me that I said that before I called about my current order. I was not real pleasant while talking with Brook.
