Spent 3 days in the hospital last week having my pacemaker removed and replaced. One of the wires never was attached and despite at least 3 tests the docs never picked up on it so the new doc figured it out and replaced it. He had trouble getting the wire out because it had become mis positioned during the one year it was hanging loose inside the heart.
Glad to say I am now on the mend but no lifting nothing more than 5 pounds for the next 4 to 6 weeks. No shop work but I will stay tuned in.

GREAT that they found a problem before it became an issue.
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

So sorry you had to go thru that kind of trauma. I wish the new workforce could learn to be proud of their jobs and work. Times they are a changin.

Dang it man ! My wife's dad is on his 4th box now, his first was rather large compared to this one ,his second one was gong off for no reason , bout killed him ,, his 3rd one just became out dated , hope you got the bugs out .

As someone on a pacemaker myself, I can truthfully say I understand what you have been through. I do believe that your pacemaker was turned on. I'd bet that you have a three wire pace maker that was functioning as a two wire unit. But that is all just conjecture. I am thankful to hear that you are now LOOKING FORWARD to your recovery period. To adhere to the doctors instructions - especially the weight limitation.

Interesting that the probes were 'replaced). AIUI once in place they cannot be removed(tissue grows around them).
The probes in my case stimulate both upper and lower chambers, but the lower one is seldom activated(I feel it when that occurs). It occurs < 1% of the time.
No swinging golf clubs either.
