'59 Greenie extra retaining clip?

This question is some what of a " fishing expedition".
I am currently refurbishing a '59 Greenie (500) w/ khyber belt, single bearing quill.
I completely disassembled headstock, inspected all parts and reassembled unit.
Here is the "question".
After reassembling unit I discovered that I have an extra 11/16 exterior retaining clip (snap clip).
Any Ideas what part may actually use this size clip?
A little history may help. This is Greenie was not well maintained over the years and many of the small parts ( washers, screws, set pins, ) were missing or installed incorrectly. So not sure if my "extra clip" is actually needed.
i did not remove the fan sheave nor the idler sheave. So those clips were not touched.
I did replace the retaining clip for the motor spring.
So, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

A picture of the clip would help.

There are three places on the Greenie Headstock that uses a clip around that size. One is on the Drive Sleeve Assembly (1675) facing out, another is on the Pinion Shaft (1677) on the back side of the headstock and the third is on the spindle (1639) in front of the bearing. See attached PDF of page 2 of the March 1959 Parts Lists.

Sorry I can't narrow it down anymore since I do not have a Greenie or Goldie at this time to compare clip types/sizes. I hope this helps you find where it belongs and if your Mark 5 is missing it or not.

Thank you so much chapmanruss .
That image was very helpful.
It was definitely the retaining ring for the pinion quill feed (1677).
much relieved.
thanks again.

Carbide,
We would love to see pictures of your restoration project. If you need an owners manual for your "Greenie" our resident Shopsmith Historian Everett is working on that project to make restored copies of the manuals available to all. Currently the first three manual editions, we know of, are available through Everett's thread at the top of the Maintenance and Repair section called Shopsmith Large Format Drawings, Illustrations and More. Any of the early Shopsmith owners manuals will give you the same operating instructions. Only the parts lists and diagrams changed in these early manuals. I do have the complete March 1959 Parts List if you need that. If you have an original manual that we do not have on our list we would be happy to have you copy it to add to the restored manuals collection. See Calling for Submissions - Everett in the Community section for a list of which manuals we have. The most recent list is near the end of the thread.

This is the current state. Definitely not green any more.
I do have quite a lot of the original documentation. I have not gone through
all the papers but I would be happy to submit something if it helps.
I will have a look tonight.

Installed new belt.
Silly question, the belt rubs on the way bar.
Motor appears to be in the correct position.
Is this “normal”? Seems strange.

Is that a SS OEM belt?
