Overhead Router Table
Here is a local listing for a SS Overhead Router table.
https://classifieds.ksl.com/listing/54050202
What did these cost new?
This is the only one I have ever seen locally. It appears to be in near new condition. It does not appear the seller is not going to budge much on the price.
Anyone have any thought's?

Re: Overhead Router Table
John,
I looked in a 2000 and a 2001 catalog but could not find it. Do you know what years it was available?

Re: Overhead Router Table
No I don't. I think Ed Rieble would know but he posted a while back he would be out of touch for a little while. Also I think there were two different tables so I don't know which one this one has.chapmanruss wrote:John,

I just don't want to pay more than a new one cost even though that one looks mostly unused and near new. I really would like to know what a new one cost so I have room to bargain. I think I would offer $450. I don't care about the router (it is a Porter Cable though).

Re: Overhead Router Table
I do not know what they cost new. The table is the new version. I paid $100 for mine without the stand or router. Here are some that are for sale in other places. The second one has the original table. It might give you options or for negotiation of the price. https://eastnc.craigslist.org/tls/d/sho ... 05757.html https://lancaster.craigslist.org/tls/d/ ... 66817.html

Re: Overhead Router Table
That’s the same version I have ... I paid $125 for mine on CL, but that one looks a bit cleaner.
The link below has a good history of the OPR variants, with original pricing. It says that version (555413) sold new for $399, starting back in 1989.

Re: Overhead Router Table
Thank you Brenda and Dennis. That was most helpful. It looks like my thought of $450 is still a bit high.

Re: Overhead Router Table
I paid $500, or so, for mine from SS. Maybe 23 years ago. But, I wouldn't let go for that, today. It's way too much fun.

Re: Overhead Router Table
Not sure how far you want to drive but here is one in Boise. New table version and an Incra jig.

Re: Overhead Router Table
Yes that is the newer table and the newer arm. Price seems high.
When I got mine it had the plywood table and no stand. I got a stand and table but the table had some damage which I fixed. Later another table came along so I got that. Also got the casters and the power switch later on. Not sure of the total cost but I'm thinking maybe $500 by piece meal but I really like it.
The JessEm fence is on sale at Woodcraft for $50 off there list price and still better then anywhere else by about $20 so I got one. Still have to mount it but I'm sure I'll like it.
I keep router in both locations, they also work as "pins" with a shaft installed so it can be both an above and a below pin setup. I also have the old incra jig that shopsmith sold for it. Lots of good options to play with as I also adapted one of the inserts to take guide rings and inserts.
Even at the price it is more then likely worth it if you are in the market.
