The motor that came on my SS get very hot when using the saw. It is 1/2 hp 7 amp A O Smith guessing it is original.
Thinking or replacing it with a grizzly 3/4 hp TEFC model.

Re: Replacement Motor for 10er
The 10ER motor bracket is designed for a 56 motor frame. Also will the Grizzly fit under the SS? If it runs but gets hot maybe it only needs bearings. Easily done and cheaper than a new motor. The AO Smith motors are pretty much bullet proof.BobCoates1953 wrote:The motor that came on my SS get very hot when using the saw. It is 1/2 hp 7 amp A O Smith guessing it is original.

Re: Replacement Motor for 10er
Ok John
What info do I need to find the bearings, and where can I get them? Took it apart some sawdust, bearing seemed to turn freely??
It seemed the housing was hot not sure the end caps were.
Thanks

Re: Replacement Motor for 10er
The OEM bearings are MRC 203SFF. They are available probably everywhere. I buy mine from A & W Bearings that apparently has been aquired by Purvis Industries since I last checked. Anyhow, they have the originals for $11.07 each.BobCoates1953 wrote:Ok John
