The motor that came on my SS get very hot when using the saw. It is 1/2 hp 7 amp A O Smith guessing it is original.
Thinking or replacing it with a grizzly 3/4 hp TEFC model.

The 10ER motor bracket is designed for a 56 motor frame. Also will the Grizzly fit under the SS? If it runs but gets hot maybe it only needs bearings. Easily done and cheaper than a new motor. The AO Smith motors are pretty much bullet proof.

Ok John
What info do I need to find the bearings, and where can I get them? Took it apart some sawdust, bearing seemed to turn freely??
It seemed the housing was hot not sure the end caps were.
Thanks
Bob

The OEM bearings are MRC 203SFF. They are available probably everywhere. I buy mine from A & W Bearings that apparently has been aquired by Purvis Industries since I last checked. Anyhow, they have the originals for $11.07 each.
