Magna Jointer

I'm the brand new owner of an older "greenie". I'm new to ShopSmith ownership and woodworking in general. My unit came with a Magna jointer. I'm wondering about sharpening the blades. Also, what speed do I need to run the jointer?
Thanks for any help. I'm sure this is the first of many questions.....
