More Striatech DVR news Rikon Bandsaw upgrade

Don't own a Rikon bandsaw but saw an ad and went to look at it on their page:

"RIKON & Striatech have combined their expertise to develop the world’s first DVR Smart Bandsaw." (Now couldn't shopsmith have made that claim with all there attachments?)

This is a very interesting read. Thanks for the heads up post, Ed.

A couple things jumped out. The first being that the power supply and control panel seem to be a combined unit (eliminating a cable between the two). The control panel (or power supply - can't tell which in the photo) plugs into the power source (110vac).

The second observation being that the motor is not colocated with the rest of the Striatech hardware (is this heat source isolation ???).

Then there is the price????

I have yet to read the documentation but I am very curious about service/repair. Does RIKON or Striatech speak to repairs.
