grubscrew on nova G3 chuck

I just got a Nova G3 Chuck and wanted to know if the grubscrew should be used when setting it up.

The grubscrew is needed if you plan to reverse the chuck but then that requires a lathe that can run in reverse. If you have such a lathe then you should most definitely use it. If you don't there is no down side to using it anyway and that way it will not get lost.
To sum it up I would use it.

Make sure you us the padded insert to prevent damage to the spindle(adapter) threads.

It is a thin, micarta, dot, There should have been two, (one and a spare) in the bag with the grub screw.

If you missed it don't feel bad I did too. Thought it was just waste they had throw in the shipment. Had to did all the shipping materials out of the recycle bin looking for it and sure enough it was there........ good thing it hadn't gone out yet. It was red I believe so not to hard to spot once you know what to look for.

Sorry, no photo available here. My one and only is installed and I'm not about to pull it for a photo op. When I do stunts like that I am almost certain to drop it and loose it.
