What is the best way to remove rust from the slide rails.

You are most kind. I wrote that for exactly these kinds of requests.

I word of caution. Due to the size of the material, from time to time I reorganize it and move it between several locations within Google space I own. You listed a direct link to it's location, which gets there today, but sometime in the future, it will break.

That is why I have been so persistent in pointing folks to the Post titled "Shopsmith Large Format Drawings, Illustrations and More" post in the Maintenance and Repair Forum, where the Link My Google Drive appears. I ONLY update the active link attached to the My Google Drive under which sub-directories exist.

The Sub-directory is Rust & Paint where the file 'GotRust.PDF' is.

If one creates a link, please use the link https://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/view ... 90#p185690 to reach the post, then follow the My Google Drive link.

I hope the original poster finds the resources in that document to help them isolate and treat the rust problem they have.
