Drill Chuck in Tail Stock

Drill Chuck in Tail Stock
I have watched multiple Shop smith YouTube videos in which the drill chuck is placed in the tail stock . My question is what is the item number of that which allows the drill chuck to be secured in the tail stock?
Re: Drill Chuck in Tail Stock
It is called a "tailstock chuck arbor." There should be one on E Bay.

Re: Drill Chuck in Tail Stock
In case you find ones for sale with other part numbers this will explain why. The Tailstock Chuck Arbor with P/N 505603 dates back to 1964. Before that it was part number 12 281 and earlier P/N 169-1X. These did not have the black protective coating but are the same otherwise and any of these Tailstock Chuck Arbors with these three part numbers will work.
When looking for used parts online consider the price including the shipping cost compared to buying a new one from Shopsmith. Shipping prices on eBay are commonly much higher than Shopsmith's. Saving $5 on a used part is not a great deal if the shipping costs $6 more.

You can also get one from Lee Valley, I think they have the best price.

I have been very impressed with live centers and morse taper extensions that I have purchased from zlivecenter.com. This could be another option. I believe the Shopsmith drill chuck is a B16 standard arbor size so this should work. It is a MT2 to B16 Drill Chuck Arbor Adapter (with Tang End).

I thought B series adapters (B10, B12, B16, B18, etc..) are tapered adapters also. Your example is Morse #2 taper on one end and B16 taper on the other end. The SS chucks are 5/8" straight bore mounting with a set screw.RFGuy wrote:I have been very impressed with live centers and morse taper extensions that I have purchased from zlivecenter.com. John, you are right. I always get drill chuck arbors mixed up because there are dozens of choices for size and taper in the various standards. Probably best to stick with the Shopsmith adapter for mating to the Shopsmith drill chuck.jsburger wrote: I thought B series adapters (B10, B12, B16, B18, etc..) are tapered adapters also.
