Finally Finish Christmas Gifts

Post by sehast »

I usually make the grandkids Christmas gifts but this year I finished much later than usual. For my grandson I made a Galileo thermometer which hopefully will peak his interest in his science classes. I purchased the tube from Amazon and made the holder out of bubinga and maple.

Used the Shaper Origin to cut the parts out and table router for the edging. During the glue up of the blank I placed a maple strip directly behind the tube to place more light and attention to it.

My granddaughter is an very much into horses so I made her this horseshoe hanger out of purpleheart and maple. Pretty simple wood construction and I had the unusual horseshoes made from an artist on Etsy. His late delivery of the product is one of the reasons I finished so late this time.
