Speed Control Mounting Screws

Anyone know the screw sizes for the speed control mount? Mine stripped out. (e.g. "#10-32 tpi, 1/4 inch". Pic below:

I believe they are 10-32. epoxied kep nuts on the back side MAY work if they would not interfere. The kep nut lock washer helps the epoxy grip them. Getting the epoxy to grip the casting is less effective. I would NOT enlarge the holes. Larger screws would require enlarging holes in the speed changer/spring. Since this is an "A" casting, simply using nuts is possible since access requires getting there from the open 'bottom' anyway.

I can't confirm the 10-32 size, but it occurred to me that you could install press-fit nuts from the backside. Instead of using a press, you should be able to just use a screw and washer to draw the nut into the (enlarged) hole.

The last set I removed, 2001 headstock, were 10-24TPI, 7/8" long pan head. They were Phillips. I'm less sure that much older ones were the same but with slotted heads. Originals are thread cutting type, but I'd think that is for faster first time assembly.

This is my first post. I am almost done restoring a goldie band saw. When I fired it up with everything put back (I think) the new blue max tires flew off. Does any one know why this occurred and how to fix

First of all, I always run my bandsaw at my lowest speed available. Even at slow speed, it cuts through wood like a banshee.
If your tires come off at low speed, you may have to glue them on with whatever glue is recommended. Be sure the tires are exactly the right size for the wheels.

Tires are back on and runs beautifully. Lesson learned.

Sorta like fergittin ta lock the headstock prior to raising to vertical. Once typically is all it takes.
