10ER Drive Sleeve Bearing Gap Specification

Post by nv10er »

I have two new Fafnir 205KLL2 bearings coming soon to replace on my 10ER drive sleeve. Does anyone have a specification for the amount of play that should be left between the spacer and outer bearing? The picture below is not of my actual sleeve and bearings, just using it to illustrate with a red arrow the place on the assembly where I’m talking about a gap specification.

Thank you.

I am not aware of there being a specification. The spacer should be able to move a bit, so you don't want it really tight.

I agree with Ron. There is no spec. As he said, just leave enough room so the spacer is not tight against the bearings.
