Working on upgrading my 510. I have been trying for 2 hours to get idler shaft into eccentric bearing with the poly v belt on. I just cannot get the belt to stretch enough to get everything to line up and slide together. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Re: DIY PowerPro upgrade
Simplest first. The eccentric bushing needs to be rotated so that the distance between the upper and idler shafts is minimized. Thin part goes up. There's room for two belts on the idler, ensure that you're using the correct part (outboard). Ensure that the V's are seated in the grooves on both pulleys. I did this a few months ago, I don't think there were any tricks.
Just to confirm, you are using all new parts, correct? If it comes down to it, you might compare belt size to your old belt. IIRC they are supposed to be the same.
Good luck.

David,
Thanks so much. I had the eccentric bearing upside down. The printed directions said to have the thin side downward. I interpreted that to mean towards the bottom of the headstock. I see now they meant in relation to the position of the headstock when installing (which is upside down). Thanks again
