I've been using the DC3300 with 24" filter since getting the Shopsmith. Its worked great for my small shop. Yesterday, I noticed it wasn't picking up dust very well, so I checked the bag. The bag was full and so was the filter! I've changed filters once and bags many times. I've been doing heavy woodworking for the last month and over filled the system. The hoses even had sawdust backed up.
I guess this happens when you are focused on a project. So folks, check those filters and bags.
Here is what I am working on, a garden cabinet for the back patio. The wood is home made ship-lap western cedar. Joinery is rosehead nails and Kreg system on the frame.

Thee has far more long term faith in "kreg" than I.
