If someone has a new idler shaft 'handy' could you take some dimensions?

I assume the keyway and keyway 'hole' are the same as an older version.

What I am interested in is:
The over all length.
The existence of a groove for retaining clip for the quill end bearing and it's location.
Ditto for the rearmost bearing.
Is the internal bearing spacer a sleeve or shaft od step?

Am trying to determine if a MVII idler shaft replacement can be made from a new idler shaft.

The newer two bearing MV idler shaft version which is the same as the M7 idler shaft.

I've never seen the new MV Idler shaft except in pics, but I suspect it is not the same as the M7 (PowerPro) which I do have. The PP shaft is shorter, does not extend past the pulley, and there is no obvious keyway. I imagine they are much more similar at the bearings and output shaft end.

I am guilty of assuming commonality between the MV and M7 shafts.

So I need dimensions of a MV version.

There is a secondary market source of new parts matching the old style ('water pump') MV/M5 shafts on eBay. If the new MV Idler does not work out, you might talk to them about your goal. The old and new idler shafts are the same length (6").

The keyway and key are the same.

Ignoring the differences in the bearings and the eccentric, they are interchangeable.

That is the answer I had hoped for.

However the MVII is a bit longer

What is the od of the bearings?

And the distance from the quill end to the key recess 'hole'.

I fear the control sheave part is longer.

P.S. Also the distance from the end to the SECOND groove?

The bearing OD is 1.18" and the shaft is .625" at both ends. On the new shaft the OD is .7675" between the bearings. The bearings on the new idler shaft are both 6903RZ.

The center of the hole for the keyway is 3" from the service end of the idler shaft (actually from either end).

The two groves are 1 1/16" apart and the groove is 1 1/8" from the end of the shaft. When the key isinstalled in the keyway the distance from the end of the key to the end of the shaft is 1/8".
