Coming Soon...
I guess I'm going to be the typical grandpa that spoils his grandkids... I'm working up a set of plans right now for a neat art easel for my twin granddaughters. It has a chalk board on one side, a dry-erase board on the opposite side, and also holds a roll of paper that can be dispensed over the top of either side to allow the kids to draw with crayon or paint. Both can draw/paint at the same time and it won't take up a lot of space.
I've also got a set of plans almost ready to post on a real nice garden bench. There's already a picture and 3D model of each on the plans page if you're interested to see what's coming soon...

Yes indeed, making projects for the grandkids rates above almost all else. I made a walking car for each of the grandchildren, and for a few children of very close friends. I know these items are still cherished. Now I am working on a pair of rocking horses for the twins, due late January. I just ordered the SS pneumatic sanding tube to help create the contour on the pieces. I was using a 6in sanding tube, in the drill press, but I am having too much vibration for comfort. Most of my work sands with a dremel, or a small disk. Anyway, congratulations on the twins, and enjoy the woodworking.
Attached is the walking car I made for the kids. The first one had wooden blocks for noise, but pingpong balls work better.

Gary, that is adorable. I'm sure it will be treasured for years. Do I detect a lazy-susan bearing on the front wheel steering?

I can't believe I actually found the plans, how's that for organized. The book was Weekend Wodworking Projects Vol 4#3 issue 21, from editors of Wood Magazine. I purchased it in 1991. Since I can't figure out how to make the scanner recognize the computer (even though the printer/fax/copy work just fine) I attached photos. If you want clear copies, pm me, and I'll mail them to you.
