Fellow Shopsmith Genius’s,
Before I ruin my arm what is the best way to remove OLD adhesive from the sanding plates. The first one was easy. The second plate has had paper applied on top of other paper. I got the main paper rounds removed but have a ton of old adhesive left behind. Plate one I used paint thinner and a putty knife with rounded corners. I finished it off with 80 grit on my orbital. Looks like new. Anyone know the easy way for the fix? Thanks for every consideration.

Mount it, spin it at low speed, use soft scrapers and scotch brite pads.

ETA: Soften it up first with solvent, but don't leave it dripping wet.
