I have picked up two used SS.
I understand date of Manufacture can be determined from serial number but can find no info.

1st 183784
2nd 58821

Also the 1st has a much heavier and larger table saw base and fence along with larger ext. tables. Is this a diff model or just some type of upgrade?

How does the drill chuck get connected to spindle?

Thanks in advance

The first one was built in the 1983-1984 time period and the 2nd was built between 1980 and 1981.

All the MKV's are the same basic unit. Which I think we determined is the 505 now. So it seems as you have a 500 and a 505.

The chuck just slips on the spindle and locks down with a set screw.
