Blade guard spacer

My table saw blade guard (lower) had a thin cheap feeling aluminium spacer at the bottom I can bend it with my fingers can this be right? The guard looks like a 505628

The picture below is the spacer you are referring to for the Lower Saw Blade Guard 505628. It is made of aluminum and very flexible. It is to give extra space in the lower guard for using a dado or other wide cutters like the molder head.

I guess flexible is a good way of putting it lol
