ShopSmith says No. Others say it is possible, but there are problems. I have ever only owned a 510, so I can knot say, as I only have arbors meant for the 510. I do knot believe that any one on this forum recommends doing so. I think that I remember reading posts that say the blade will hit something or the arbor will hit something, or that you will knot be able to use the lower saw guard, or...?judaspre1982 wrote:I am trying to find out if you can use SS model 500 saw arbors on a 510 table system. I have searched in the archives and read you can not because of saw guard alignment or something to that effect. Is there a way to adapt the 500 arbors? Are there any other reasons they will not work? Because of the economy I have an opportunity to get a 1995 MK V 510 very cheap but I have spent a large amount of money over the summer investing in my 1955 greenie. I am happy with my greenie but the price of the 510 is hard to beat. I just cant afford to start buying more 510 accessories. Are the saw arbors and table inserts the only items that would have to be added. Any input would help in my decision making. The guy said he has one saw arbor and one table insert. My future plans are to start using the SS equipment as a source of income for a small business venture so I am looking at this purchase as an investment.----Dave
