While out walking on Christmas Day I could hear the call of a flock of Sandhill Crane's. They have a very distinctive sound and be heard from a goodly distance away. But finding them in the sky, getting the camera up to that area and focused is a bit of a feat.
This is a bit of a surprise, they do fly over this way but this is really late in the season. Well it is an odd weather year with especially warm weather and no snow, I mean none so far this winter.
My brother who died almost a year ago and I would always correspond about them. He was in mid WI and I in IL. There was a field just behind his house where they would nest and raise chicks. I just get to see them on the way up or down. Anyway a sweet memory/reminder.
So this is one of a couple flocks I saw and filmed today. Not sure what other ones will get posted, I will add links if more are decent enough to post.

And the last one that was decent except that the battery ran out and so faded the flock and this part of today's adventure.
