Yep, that's the one I have often referenced in my posts. The chap running it (owner?) is quite knowledgable about ShopSmith as he has been selling them since way back when. I think he told me once there are about twenty thousand + units in Canada. He also offers woodworking courses and they can be given on a SS if that is what is wanted. I drop by about once per year on the way to visiting the kids and someday I am hoping to be in the area long enough to take a pen turning session with him.

He is the only dealer in Canada and his pricing from SS is not always to the advantage of the Canadian customer. From what I understand, sales prices in the U.S. are often lower than his discounted price, and he has the same back order problems as the direct customer. By the time he pays freight, etc he cannot offer many deals up here so most of the sales you see are not available here. (maybe that's a good thing :D ) I visit his web site quite often and have purchased from him but since prices are not always attractive, I try to order items on sale from SS when I am on vacation in the U.S. However, then I cannot acept any back order situation due to the short time I am there.

We can order dirctly from SS but again the cost of shipping is prohibitive so it is not a good option.

It sure would be nice to deal with the Canadian distributor to support him, and SS, and get pricing similar to what is available south of the border, even with a little extra added on for exchange and other costs.

John

Ps: maybe someone from SS admin might see this and help us Canucks out.;)

My past dealings have not been positive with this guy.

I will not pay his exaggerated prices on SS items.
