My setup in the latest SS email sale ad

Post by jsburger »

I just got the latest SS sale email. In it they have the extension table brackets (555997) on sale. The add shows one of my setups from years ago (prior to 2009) before I built my dedicated shop. The picture was taken in my garage. I am not sure how SS got it but, I suspect it came from Rick Davis a long time SS employee. I sent him the picture years ago and it is on his web site with credit. SS even gives me credit in the ad.

I have and use two sets. I think the second set could be replaced by a shop made support but I haven't tried it. If you use your Mark for full size sheet goods, some method of increased infeed and outfeed support is useful. I like this set, though it would make me happier if the included connector tube was longer than 'standard' instead of shorter.

JSB - I was inspired by your pic, seen on the forum. With another variant, IIRC. My past experience was that a Greenie w/ two extension tables and sheet goods was not an ideal match. It was eye opening that the effective table size could be so readily increased in all directions. The 520 table system has completely changed my view of the Mark as a table saw. Sure, it's still not a cabinet saw. But table expansion is one of the reasons that I think it is a superior portable.

You're famous!

I've used that extension (only 1 set) on my 510, and I've been happy with it. It's fiddly and takes time, but if you're in a hurry buy your furniture from Walmart.
