New blade inquiry

I am interested in a 9" thin kerf blade for my 500 - can anyone offer a recommendation? I have a relatively new SS brand 10" TK blade but I would like a 9" blade that will fit in my vintage blade guards.
I KNOW that the new guards are a great improvement, but I like the old one and am looking for a blade to use with it. Thanks in advance. Alec

I would take a look at Forrest.

Hope this helps. Forrest will drill it to fit the Shopsmith too.

I didn't know that older guards would not accommodate a 10" blade. Was that before the horsepower boost?

Yes Bruce - my Goldie is a 1960 and it has a saw guard that fits only 9" blades. It predates the round dust collection port as the port in the guard is rectangular. The top guard is the aluminum model, equipped with riving knife and anti-kickback pawls. When adjusted properly it works fine. I'll post some pictures later.
Dusty - thanks for the link, but it appears the thin kerf blades are only available in 10".

If you look again at Forrest, the thin kerf blades in 10" are 3/32, and the 9" are the same kerf. So, it would seem the 9" Forrest blades would be "thin kerf"

Good eye Taquin - thanks! Now it's down to a choice between the Freud and the Forrest - the Freud is certainly cheaper, so I'll probably go with that one.. thanks again - Alec
